Monday Teeny Poll
By GlindaIt seems like the flu just doesn’t get you motivated, as 38% of you said that you don’t bother to get shots. Either that, or you actually kind of look forward to to the time off work. A surprisingly large amount of you, 12%, stated you were against flu shots, and I’m curious as to why. Don’t like the side effects? Government conspiracy? I so very want to know. The rest of you either faithfully get your shots every year (29%) or at least you faithfully try to get them (19%).
How can I not talk about Halloween today? Did you go to a party? Did you dress up? Did you go trick or treating with your kids? Did you wear a costume? Did you think someone could ask this many questions about Halloween?

I don’t get the flu shot because I cannot remember the last time I had the flu or any other contagious illness (other than my annual cold). If they could give a shot to prevent headaches, however, I would be there with bells on.

I don’t get the flu shot because I haven’t had the flu since 1982. My kids have never had the flu or the shot. My husband has never had the flu in the 16 years Ive known him. And I have many friends who DO get the flu shot, only to be felled by a different strain of the flu that year. So I’m not impressed with the effectiveness of the shot, especially considering our history. Although I am knocking furiously on wood right now.

Why are people still commenting on flu shots? We’ve moved on to Halloween! Which I’ve recently discovered lasts for at least three days, once kids are in school. Sigh. At least I didn’t slice my hand open carving the jack-o-lantern yesterday. Not that I ever have, but I always worry I will…
