Monday Teeny Poll
By GlindaLast week I inquired how you felt about minors and tanning salons, and a full sixty-two percent of you said that they should be banned from tanning salons altogether. Thirty-four percent felt that they should get written permission from parents, and two percent said there should be no legislation whatsoever regarding minors and tanning salons.
I happen to think that recent research has fairly definitively proven that tanning beds are extremely dangerous, and I think that society has to protect teens from themselves by denying them access. Teens are usually not known for their tendency to see long-term consequences, and thus we have to do it for them. So freakin’ what if they have pale skin? Let’s get our priorties straight here, people.
As for today’s question, I want to know how you feel about daylight savings time, which began ended today. Yes, yes, except for like, two places in America. But for the rest of us, tell us how you really feel about having to adjust that toddler’s bedtime routine…

Just wanted to make a minor correction: Daylight Savings Time ended, not began. We are (in my time zone at least) back to Eastern Standard Time. And I think Daylight Savings Time is completely useless!

It’s not so much that I think it’s “useful” as it is that it’s a marker for the passing seasons. It kind of let’s you know that winter will be ending and gives you something to look forward to. Kinda gives you an official deadline for the cold & dark to be gone. I like having the longer spring & summer days, even if it is an artificial construct.
