Julia the Jeanie

By Glinda

I’m going to start a feature in which I take a look at the various sartorial choices of celebrity moms.

You know, probably because I am bored.

All right, I’m probably going to get crucified here, but I actually like this outfit.

Because I grew up in the 80’s, I have a total blind spot when it comes to rolled jeans. In fact, I love them. And perhaps they wouldn’t look as good on anyone else, but for Julia Roberts, they work.

Loving the ballet flats, especially the color, and I heartily approve of the bracelets and the splash of blue from the necklace. Not too matchy-matchy, though (as Clinton and Stacy would say).

To me, this outfit says fun! Casual! I have millions of dollars and really skinny ankles!

What about you, yay or nay on this look?

It looks okay on Julia, because she’s tall and slender (although I might have gone with a more fitted jacket to balance the baggy jeans) This would look awful on someone short and stumpy like myself! Love those sunglasses.

Love the flats, hate the boyfriend jeans just as much as I hated them on Katie Holmes. I guess they give me bad flashbacks to my way-too-long Lee Jeans and Calvin Klein jeans in 5th grade in the 80s. Of course, those were replaced by ankle zipping horrible Guess? jeans that bankrupted my babysitting money fund a year or two later, oh, and the floral Forenzas and the pin striped jeans…oh, and stonewash. I hope none of those trends will be following and repeating history!

If you start out with Julia Roberts’ figure, and ankles, you can get away with almost anything.
