Monday Teeny Poll
By GlindaLast week (and doesn’t that seem oh so far away?) I asked if you think parents should “go without” your own trendy things in order for your kids to have them if money was tight. A full fifty percent said it sent the wrong message.
Today I want to know about your New Year’s resolutions. Or, lackthereof.

I said I make them knowing I’ll break them, but it’s more like I set “goals” for the year.
The goal for this year is to give up diet soda (and regular soda, but I almost never drink it) as a healthier lifestyle choice. If I have one now and then over the course of this year, I won’t consider that “breaking it”. One day at a time after all.

I don’t make resolutions, but I do have a bit of a superstition. At midnight exactly, I try to be actually DOING whatever it is I want to do more of in the coming year. I think it starts things off right.
One year it was running, and I’ll never forget running past the Buddhist temple at 12:01, running right through a fogbank that turned out to be incense smoke so thick you couldn’t see through it! One year it was writing. One year it was blogging. I think this year it’ll be either dancing or sending out a proposal to speak at a blogging/social media conference.
