Monday Teeny Poll
By GlindaLast week I asked you how your spending would be affected this holiday season. A full 40% admitted that they’ve never been big spenders to begin with. Another 30% is definitely being a bit more mindful of the finances this year. Only 5% said they were planning on spending more. None of these things bode well for the retail industry.
As for us, we have mostly tried to spoil all the kids in the family, and just sort of give token gifts to the adults. We’ve always done it that way, not just this year. The Munchkin has a grand total of 10 cousins, so all of that adds up real quick.
This week, I want to know how you are doing with your shopping.

Sometimes I need to see the item, but then I troll the Innernets for the best deal.

I’d prefer to buy everything via internet and have it delivered directly to my office. In fact, I have three boxes sitting here right now and two more on the way. Worked retail for 12 years and have no desire to approach a mall during December other than getting my hair cut!
Best invention ever? In-store pickup via Best Buy. Purchase on-line, pick it up in the store on the way home. They have special parking spaces for it, a special line for it and no shipping charges at all!

There is no way in heck I’m going to the mall or Target or even the cute little independent gift shops we have all around here. That means getting dressed (in real clothes) and maybe even doing my hair, spending the money on the gas, and dealing with other shoppers. BLEAH. It’s online all the way around here!
