Hot Mama Tip
By GlindaThe last product I’m going to review for this summer of Stila is the Eyeshadow Quad in Marrakesh.
And I can sum it up neatly in one word- beautiful!
Now as I age (ahem) gracefully, my ability to wear super-shimmery colors is getting a bit tenuous. Nothing shows up crepey eyelids like a bit of shine. The shadows in this quad have a teensy bit of shimmer, just enough to look awesome, yet not enough to highlight any signs of advancing closer to forty, or uh, (cough, cough) thirty-seven.
The colors can be worn together, alone, or in any combination. They would be extremely flattering to pretty much any skin tone. I love this quad, and I think you would, too!
As for the Super Fantastic Stila Giveaway Part Deux, we are going to carefully judge the haiku over the next week, and the winners will be announced on Sept. 6, 2008. Thank you to all those that entered, it’s going to be a tough decision! You all blew me away with your creativity!

Oh, Glinda, with your usual wisdom, you have brought the eyeshadow problem into (ahem) soft focus. It was a grim day when I discovered that not only does super shiny shadow bring out the squishy wrinklies, but ultra matte shadow is equally guilty. The only solution is the perfectly lightly shimmery shadow, a texture as elusive as it is essential. I will–WILL–hunt down these suddenly not-to-be-missed shadows. Thank you for bringing the matter to my attention.

I looked at these and I thought, “What pretty blushes!” As eyeshadow … I’m not so certain. In the theater, these are the colours we use around the eyes when we want to make someone look older.
And thirty-seven? Break my heart. I barely even remember thirty-seven.

La BellaDonna- I think you might be thinking that the colors are very intense, but they are actually very sheer. I have always been a big fan of pinks/golds on my eyes, and the darkest shade is perfect for the crease. But truly, this provides the sheerest wash of color, not a matte-like intense color.

Having just been through the ringer of another Mary Kay party, I’m glad to see someone coming out with colors that look wearable and scrumptious. If only pinkish eyeshadow didn’t make me look like I’d been crying! Though perhaps I’m just remembering the cheap drugstore junk I used as a teenager.
