Matthew (being raised in Austin, TX) did not discover the joys of the surfer dude lifestyle until he was an adult. So when Camila gave birth to Levi, Matthew decided his son was going to have everything he had wanted but had been denied. As Levi was too young to hang ten, Matt decided to start him early on the skate board so he would be ready to ride a wave or board down a mountain as soon as he could walk (after all it was easy to teach newborns to swim, right?) Camila tried to reason with Matt but since nothing she said had any effect on him, she thought she should be there to supervise.

Taking only what they could carry, The McConaughey clan set out in search of a better life and a gas station with clean bathrooms and a baby changing table.

As gas prices surged upward, Matthew went way over the top in embracing the “green” movement. Camila couldn’t stop saying “I told you so!” as they trudged up the Malibu hills with baby and alternative transportation in tow.

Although he was unwilling to marry the mother of his child, Matthew was quite happy to use her as a pack mule.
