I wish I could say this picture of poor posture at the Oscars last night was an aberration, but methinks Miley Cyrus could find a good use of time in walking around with a book balanced on her head.

I don’t know if she thought she was about to have the girls fall out of the dress if she pulled her shoulders back, but if so, that would be an indication that it wasn’t fitted properly, and thus NOT WEAR IT.

And with that, my old-fogey-ness is confirmed.

Is this really news? That Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has a short, cropped hairstyle and favors jeans over dresses?

Again I say, rilly?

And who are the idiots claiming that Brad and Angelina are purposely dressing her like a boy to be “politically correct?”

Do any of these people actually have children?

Because if they did, they would know that by age three, most children have distinct likes and dislikes about the clothing that they wear.  Perhaps B&A simply don’t feel like fighting her sartorial choices every time they walk out the damn door just to prove to everyone else she is a girl.  I’ve been in the trenches in the getting dressed wars, and it can be ugly.  Parents have to pick their battles, and as long as the kid is decently covered, all should be considered well.

As for Shiloh’s hair, it looks to be very fine and a short haircut probably gives it a bit more bounce.  Not to mention it’s easier to deal with, especially if she has what is clinically known as a “tender head.”  OK, maybe that’s not the official term, but we all know girls who hated having their hair brushed.

So she is a tomboy? Big deal. 

I happen to think she looks freakin’ adorable.

It seems that Suri has a smaller version of her mother’s Ferragamo “Sofia” bag, which retails for around $850.

Now picture Glinda in the baby aisle at Target, wrestling with the decision to buy some five dollar barettes for the Munchkinette’s long (her bangs are in her eyes!) and unruly hair.

Obviously, Katie and I reside in two very different worlds.

But for what it’s worth, I have some advice for fellow mom Katie Holmes. This is advice I learned about the hard way, although not with something as expensive as that purse. However, the lesson is the same.

Never trust a preschooler with anything worth over twenty bucks.

The more expensive an item is, the more likely it will be dropped in the mud/given to the dog/ripped/lost.

Something like a rock they found at the park, though, will be treasured beyond measure.
