Celebrity Dad Faceoff 2.0

It has come to my attention that I suck.

OK, well, it has come to my attention that I posted a picture of someone I thought was Ben Browder, but was not.  I must have been blinded by the abs.  Thanks to both Seana (who thought I was wrong) and Kathleen (who KNEW I was wrong).

So in order to address the whole debacle, I am going to post a picture of the REAL Ben Browder (thanks again, Kathleen) for you to vote upon.

The real Ben Browder will be facing off against Freddie Prinz Jr, who won our last CDF by a respectable margin.

Sigh.

Aloha, Pierce Brosnan, may you comfortably ensconce yourself up in the CDF Hall of Fame.

I know, I know.  I have been a slacker, especially when it came to Thursday nights and CDF.  You see, for some strange reason, I found it daunting to have to find two brand new celebrity dads to feature here.  I have no idea why, there are an infinite number of things that are more daunting, yet I didn’t do it.

I have an eclectic pair of contestants for you today.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.  One might be best known for his live-action Scooby Doo movies and the other is an award-winning actor with an Oscar nomination.

Yes, my dears, it has been a while.  Let’s chalk it up to exhaustion from the holiday season, shall we?

Now it seems that our man Pierce is on some sort of unstoppable run, and indeed, he only has one more win needed to place him in the CDF Hall of Fame.

What brave man would be brave enough to step into the breach?

The lovely and wise Seana suggested a certain actor who unbeknownst to me, has been his very hot self on the small screen for quite the few years.  Although I consider myself a sci-fi fan, this man eluded me whilst acting on Farscape and Stargate SG-1.  But wait, I’ve watched Stargate SG-1 and never noticed him!  Fool!

Well, I tried to give Mark Consuelos an extra week to pick up some votes, but it was a no go. He garnered only 9% of the vote.  9%! That’s crazy, people! He is totally hot.

Anyhoo, I’ve got another celebrity father anxiously waiting in the wings to probably go down in flames against Mr. Brosnan.

Any Dawson’s Creek fans out there?  Or how about this?

Eh, let’s just get this over with, shall we?

Oh my.

As marvel pointed out, I do believe this was the first time in CDF history that the vote was unanimous.

Sorry, Vince Vaughn.  Maybe I should have chosen a picture of your younger, hotter self.  Or perhaps Pierce Brosnan is practically unbeatable.

We’ll see.

Sometimes I come across a celebrity dad and I smack my forehead in wonderment that I haven’t featured them yet.

And this next contender is one of them.  A successful soap opera actor in his own right, he is also known as the husband to Kelly Ripa.  Also, he is almost painfully handsome.

Pierce Brosnan gave Hugh Grant a huge walloping, sending him packing in a hurry.  I’m agreeing with the vote, as Hugh Grant is charming and sort of handsome, but Pierce is charming and truly handsome.

Today’s challenger is not really considered conventionally handsome, even though back in his younger days, he was quite a looker. Which I never knew, because it seems like I only became acquainted with him as an actor when he was a bit older.  Shame, that.

Benicio Del Toro crumpled mightily in the face of Hugh Grant’s baby blues.   Benicio is not coventionally handsome, but I sure would let him buy me a drink.

Today I’ve got another UK actor, one which for some reason I’ve not featured before.  Not because I don’t find him attractive, he is almost too attractive.  He as definitely aged well from his 007 days.

My apologies for last week’s lack of CDF, it was just a hectic kind of week, ya know?  And really, I should just get used to it because it’s not like it’s going to slow down until after New Year’s.

So, our bright-eyed Hrithik Roshan gets elevated into the CDF Hall of Fame and I get to introduce two all new competitors to the game.

Both lads have their children coming fairly late in life.  They are both respected actors, and they both have fantastic accents.

Our first dad will forever be on my good list for his work in The Usual Suspects.

The second has been in quite a few films I have enjoyed, including The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain and Sense and Sensibility, to name a couple.
