Things I Love: Sophie the Giraffe
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010By Glinda
Yes, I love a teething toy, which is not something I ever thought I would write.
I mean, it is after all just a teething toy.
But to anyone with a crabby, uncomfortable infant who is teething knows, teething toys can be lifesavers for everyone involved. I was also skeptical that so much money needed to be spent on a teething toy, as Sophie is perhaps three times as expensive as most others.
Let me assure you, she is well worth the money.
Most teething toys are hard plastic, but Sophie is soft, soft, soft. She is light and easy for even my four month old to grip. She has lots of different parts of her body to gnaw on, including ears, legs, and neck.
Alhtough I have to say it is slightly disconcerting to watch my daughter bite a giraffe’s behind, as Sophie is fairly realistic looking. Even more disconcerting is the fact that I call Sophie by name and then encourage my daughter to bite her. But such is the bizarre world of parenting an infant. Let’s just hope she never has a friend named Sophie.
As an added bonus, Sophie has a squeaker and I have yet to find a baby that hates a squeaker.
Sophie is BPA and pthalate-free, making her a winner all around.
