Monday Teeny Poll

Last week I asked what you thought about the divorce rates in the United States, which I believe have actually fallen a bit in recent years.  Although still too high for my taste.  A full sixty eight percent of you are of the opinion that people do not work hard enough on their marriages.  I agree.  I also think that perhaps many people marry for entirely the wrong reasons.  Only one percent of you thought that marriage was for suckers, so I guess that is encouraging as well.

Today, I’m all about celebrity moms.  Granted, we know nothing about them than what we see in pictures and interviews, but I still want to know who you think is the nicest.

D is for... Doctor Who Defeating Doctor Doom in a Deadly Disco Dance-off

A pox upon anyone who would describe this magnificent achievement by artist Neill Cameron as anything other than ABSOLUTELY AWESOME or possibly AWESOMESAUCE or AWESOMENOSITYITS RICKINSELF: an alphagory of awesomeness. It is quite simply manifestly the most magnificent mashup of the millennium.

And look, he takes requests: Facebook, Twitter, or on his blog. Alas, too late for Cthulhu crunking for Cher.

Token Michael Jackson Post

By raincoaster

Michael Jackson could use some carbs

There’s a union rule, apparently; every blog must include at least one post about Michael Jackson at least once a week until the world screams STOP! So here it is; Michael Jackson’s Sweet Potato Pie. As if Michael Jackson baked. Or ate.

From CDKitchen:

Ingredients:
3 Eggs
1/2 cup White sugar
1/4 cup Butter; melted
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/3 cup Milk (about)
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
2 1/2 cups Sweet potatoes (fresh or canned; heaping cups)
2 tablespoons Fresh lemon or orange juice
1 Pie shell (9-inch); unbaked
1/2 cup Pecan halves, optional

Directions:

Beat eggs and sugar. Add melted butter, salt, milk, vanilla, and spice. Blend egg mixture with mashed sweet potatoes and lemon or orange juice.

Pour into unbaked pie shell or greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Garnish with pecan halves if desired.

Bake in preheated 400-degree oven 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees; bake 40 minutes longer or until golden. Serves 8.

Tactfully, it doesn’t say whether those 8 are adults or children.
