I think the photo is lovely. I also liked the Vanity Fair cover that Demi Moore did (while pregnant) some years back which makes this one look quite conservative by comparison.

I love this picture! She looks beautiful and happy. Good for her.

And I think we might want to consider an alternate meaning to the word “private”. What they probably mean is that no one was there except Brad and Angelina.
Private=no camera crew.
Maybe they were always intended for the magazine, but I’m willing to believe they were alone when the pictures were taken. And that means they were privately done.

I like it because it means they had control over what they showed the world. They are public people with public lives, get over it. If you don’t like it, don’t look. I, for one, enjoy seeing a happy family whether it’s my neighbors in their yard, or strangers on the cover of a magazine.

I don’t generally like her…she seems somewhat holier-than-thou, and very strange. And yet, I’ll admit that I have never met her, and I don’t know her. So I refuse to judge her. The picture? God, it’s gorgeous, and totally appropriate anywhere, anytime.

I agree with Ruth that the picture was probably never intended simply to grace the family photo album, but it is lovely. Damn, I wish I looked that good nursing… Also, she’s got one hell of a boppy pillow and comfy nursing chair to have such elegant posture while nursing such a small baby.

I voted “inappropriate” but I need to clarify. I don’t think a beautiful picture of a nursing mother is inappropriate, I don’t think public breastfeeding is inappropriate. I DO think it’s inappropriate for them to call these “private” photos when clearly, they are not private, and I also think that taken in the context of the way they exploit their children for publicity, it’s another disgusting play for media attention.

I personally love that they have done so much positive stuff with their celebrity. Their charities, their social activism, and their obvious love for each other and children are examples more celebs ought to immulate.

Is there any photo of her, any situation, where she doesn’t look stunning? Is there a portrait of her getting uglier and uglier by the day stuck in a closet somewhere?

PS I think the photo is fine. Isn’t that what breasts are for?
