Monday Teeny Poll

By Glinda

Well happy Monday to you! If there is such a thing, that is.

Last week I asked what kind of shoe you like to wear on a daily basis, and ballet flats edged out sneakers and sandals by a mere one percent at twenty. And the poor stiletto is taken out on date nights only, it seems.

I seem to find myself wearing all three of the top choices, but I’d have to say that some of my sneaker-ish shoes are actually Mary Janes, so that confuses things. And dude, I am so easily confused.

But, there should be no confusion as to this week’s poll. I want to know what you think of the latest W cover, shot by Brad Pitt himself. I’m guessing either you like it, or you don’t. I deliberately chose to give you no wiggle room, either. Waffling not allowed!

I wish I had a photo like that, with any of my kids. I don’t think I have any decent nursing photos. :(

  2. dgm Says:

At first glance, I didn’t even know she was nursing. I was too busy marvelling at how perty she is even when not all glammed up.

  3. class-factotum Says:

Is there any photo of her, any situation, where she doesn’t look stunning? Is there a portrait of her getting uglier and uglier by the day stuck in a closet somewhere?

PS I think the photo is fine. Isn’t that what breasts are for?

GAG GAG GAG! I am fed up to my eyeballs with Brangelina and their brood. I don’t care whether its a home photo or a portrait from Karsh of Ottawa. I just want someone to make them go away! Yech!

  5. Jennie Says:

I personally love that they have done so much positive stuff with their celebrity. Their charities, their social activism, and their obvious love for each other and children are examples more celebs ought to immulate.

  6. Ruth Says:

I voted “inappropriate” but I need to clarify. I don’t think a beautiful picture of a nursing mother is inappropriate, I don’t think public breastfeeding is inappropriate. I DO think it’s inappropriate for them to call these “private” photos when clearly, they are not private, and I also think that taken in the context of the way they exploit their children for publicity, it’s another disgusting play for media attention.

    Right on Ruth!

  8. mrsdarwin Says:

I agree with Ruth that the picture was probably never intended simply to grace the family photo album, but it is lovely. Damn, I wish I looked that good nursing… Also, she’s got one hell of a boppy pillow and comfy nursing chair to have such elegant posture while nursing such a small baby.

  9. J Says:

I don’t generally like her…she seems somewhat holier-than-thou, and very strange. And yet, I’ll admit that I have never met her, and I don’t know her. So I refuse to judge her. The picture? God, it’s gorgeous, and totally appropriate anywhere, anytime.

  10. Bellamama Says:

I love this picture! She looks beautiful and happy. Good for her.

And I think we might want to consider an alternate meaning to the word “private”. What they probably mean is that no one was there except Brad and Angelina.
    Private=no camera crew.
Maybe they were always intended for the magazine, but I’m willing to believe they were alone when the pictures were taken. And that means they were privately done.

I like it because it means they had control over what they showed the world. They are public people with public lives, get over it. If you don’t like it, don’t look. I, for one, enjoy seeing a happy family whether it’s my neighbors in their yard, or strangers on the cover of a magazine.

  11. Lilly Munster Says:

I think the photo is lovely. I also liked the Vanity Fair cover that Demi Moore did (while pregnant) some years back which makes this one look quite conservative by comparison.

[...] asked you last week what you thought about Angelina Jolie’s W Magazine cover, and you overwhelmingly supported it with a positive vote of 91%. I agree. We have become so [...]
