Monday Teeny Poll
By GlindaThe rallying cry for last week’s poll was “Save Mr. Rogers!” Ninety four percent of respondents felt that Mr. Rogers should stay in the weekday rotation. I totally agree. I admit that the Land of Make Believe is a bit outdated, but we might just be looking at that through an adult world view and not that of a child.
With all the back to school hoopla that is going on, I thought I’d ask you about your own school experience.

My school tales could form an opera cycle, they were so dramatic. “Hated every second of every minute of it” just about covers it, and I’m sure it was mutual. I had some fine teachers, too, but the trauma was too deep by the time we connected.
In Grade Nine the English teacher told my parents I didn’t come to class; I sat in the hall and read books. But they were very good books, so I got an A. Hippie school worked for me very well, in retrospect.

The lowest vote getter was “I hated every second of every minute” and the highest vote went to “a lot depended upon the teacher.” So true, so true. Even subjects that you love can be ruined by the droning voice of someone who is just counting the months until retirement. [...]
