OK, OK. I don’t have kids. Start bitch slapping me. But I swear that I don’t remember my mother, who had three kids under the age of five and a husband away at war, loading up the pack mule to take us with her to the grocery store.

My sister in law had a great idea for this and taught my niece to carry a little backpack (little mind you, this was for a two year old) with a spare diaper a little baggie of wipes, a book and a toy. This was her backpack, hanging next to mommy’s purse and she carried it anytime they went out. I thought that was a great idea and it worked well for my niece.

Dear God, we must be psychic twins! I was thinking about posting something on this today, tied in with the minivan controversy. Some of the mounds of stuff that comes out of parental vehicles reminds me of clown car routines.
