For tweens and teens the Sam Stern cookbooks, especially Real Food, Real Fast are great. Easy, healthy, delicious and fun and no processed stuff. Great for parents, too.

For the culinarily challenged, kids's cookbooks are the best! (this would include me; everything I make is tasty, but it looks like it's already been eaten and barfed up. much beige lumpiness).

I still use the cookbooks I got at eight, not least because the food tends to be much more fun. I have the BESTUST fortune cookie recipe!
