Hot Mama Tip
By GlindaHave I mentioned before that I am a lipstick junkie? I have been known to have in my posession over twenty or so lipsticks at a time. It’s a sickness, I know. But at least I’m not hurting anybody but myself. Or perhaps my pocket book.
But, I kind of like to think that it makes me somewhat knowledgeable about what constitutes a good lipstick.
For me, it means one that is creamy, has good coverage, (yet isn’t overly heavy on the pigment) and most importantly, that it leaves a bit of color on my lips. Because even though I like expensive lipsticks, I am cheap enough to think that if I spend twenty bucks or so on one, that it should at least stain my lips for the rest of the day.
Vincent Longo happens to make an excellent lipstick, with all of the attributes above. I really like the fact that it stains my lips for basically the rest of the day. So even though the shine is gone, my lips still retain some color. And, it even has SPF 15!
My shade is Foolish Virgin, but there are lots of great ones to choose from. Here are some color samples:

I bought one of these lipsticks at Sephora and was terribly disappointed. I have dry lips, and it came highly recommended. The color was great, but it was so creamy the stick itself could not maintain enough sturdiness to apply, and became an unusable mess within a few uses. A waste of whatever it cost, $16? I guess I could have sliced it out of the applicator tube, put it in a little plastic container with a lid like a make-up artist, and applied it with a brush, but instead it sat around until I finally threw it away.

I’m really surprised to hear that! I have two of these, and that has never happened. Was this in the summer, by any chance?
Sephora has a very generous return policy, next time you might want to think about taking it back and getting something else. Sorry you had a bad experience with them!

I know what you mean about the fiddly little brush and not bothering. A friend of mine has her own makeup line (Common Beauty) and she’s got some great lipglosses in a little palette but most of the time I can’t be arsed to use them, no matter how pretty the colours are, even though the lid is mirrored.
