Having taught many siblings over the years, I learned very quickly not to judge the younger sibling, In most cases they are quite different, and I make sure to respect each child's unique personality...no matter how crazy it might make me!

Personality-Nature/Behavior-Nurture

After growing up with a brother who is the carbon copy (personality-wise) of a grandfather he never met and now having a son who has remarkably similar personality to his own grandfather, I have to go with both, leaning heavily toward nature. I think this is most evident in large families where you can see great differences in siblings raised by the same parents.

I went with the higher nature quotient, because my two boys are night and day from each other. I know some of their personality traits we encouraged and nurture plays a strong role, but they came out of the womb different. :)

It's definitely a combination but because "nurture" can fluctuate and individuals can take steps to change their behaviors, the personality can seem to change. Individuals have their essential nature's, however, and you can look at someone later in life and see how certain kernels of their personality were always there. How it ends up playing itself out out depends on parenting and other factors.
