Yeah, what an innovation. We call it a "yoke." It's been a fashion favorite for hundreds of years! It's also good when you have to carry pails of water from a well!

N.B.: When you are going to be carrying bags, plastic or fabric handles, but especially those plastic tourniquets, it's good to drape the plastic over something else, and carry that something else. A couple of 6" long inch-wide dowelling would be ideal, but honestly, I've been known to pick up a couple of sturdy sticks from the sidewalk to tuck under those handles, in order to keep my fingers attached. Sort of "mini-yokes"!

Tonight I struggled home from grocery shopping with five bags AND a full backpack. Trust me (and I trained in the military) it's far easier to handle a small pack and some suspender-held bags than one huge, "We're off to invade the Middle East" sized pack. And my arms have red welts from the bag handles. No fun.

Also: suspenders work with fabric bags as easily as plastic. Just take the bags, too.

All those kids and she still is smokin' hot.

@bobbie-sue- I'm not sure I agree that a backpack would do it. That would have to be one big backpack to accomodate various-sized things!

Hrm... all these benefits can also be gained by carrying a back pack when you go shopping. If you can have the foresight to carry suspenders when you shop, you can BYOBag. Just sayin.

Maybe it's time for a Green Manolo blog?
