You have my sympathies. Those makeup women have extremely challenging jobs, especially in an age of plunging V-necks. What do you say? "Those look...taut?"

Long before I had children of my own, I had a really terrible job at a makeup counter in a department store. I was doing a makeover on a woman who had her baby along with her. Mid-makeover, her baby started fussing, so she picked the baby up, and *pop!* began nursing while I was still working on her. Even though I couldn't see a thing, since her top was quite billowy and concealed both her and the baby, I was really, really uncomfortable. I felt like I was violating her somehow, even if she didn't seem to care that I was touching her while she fed her baby.

Years later, after nursing two babies myself, I still think it's a bit odd for her to have been so cavalier. The breast is best, it's a natural act, the baby shouldn't be made to starve, blah blah blah... but I feel like it's an intensely private bonding time, too. I try to keep it on the DL when I have to do it outside of the house. I know fun makeover time is precious with a newborn, but I would have excused myself to the restroom. Baby needs food more than Mama needs a new lipstick.

ya know, there are a lot worse things to see than a breast. This is especially true when you consider what noone talks about in terms of unseemly privates parts poking out.

yes, i'm talking about you mr. buttcrack. Pull it up already!

viva la boobies and the babies they feed!

It's fascinating to watch men when some mother whips out a boob at the mall. They become expert ceiling inspectors. "Breast? WHAT BREAST?"
