Friday Caption Contest Results: Baby Matador Edition!

By raincoaster

Yes, it’s that time of the week we’ve all been waiting for: the time when we announce the winner of the TeenyManolo Friday caption contest. Remember our beautifully-dressed baby matador of last week?

gamma Says:

“Good dog, Carl!”

Congratulations to gamma: isn’t this your second win? Maybe we should work on an annual Captioneer’s Hall of Fame. And yes, as Fracas suggests, you should buy new shoes for the ceremony, even if there is no ceremony. Details, details.

How do we love our gamma? Let me count the ways….

  2. Liz Says:

Congrats to gamma!! But, I honestly have to say…I don’t get it!

  3. gamma Says:

I approve the new shoes, for which an imaginary ceremony is a perfect excuse. I could so be “Ms. Caption Nov 2007″ in those shoes; I wouldn’t even need a tiara!

Liz, “Good Dog Carl” is the title of a baby board book, featuring a Rottweiler who is left in charge of the family infant while Mother is out (!). Carl and the baby have all kinds of amazing adventures, and everything is just fine when Mother gets home and says, “Good Dog Carl!”

Little did Mother know that Carl took the baby to a bullfight…

  4. Liz Says:

Ah, I see! Thanks for the explanation!!

  5. raincoaster Says:

I had to agree with all the commenters who made captions about how fabulously the kid is dressed, but this one was just so off-the-wall that we had to pick it.

Have you noticed that, however fabulous formal girls’s clothes are, there’s never anything nearly as nice for boys? The sole exceptions are Chinese and Spanish, it looks like. I love all those fabulous satiny pajamas in Chinatown and the wee bullfighter outfits. Viggo Mortensen even wore a bullfight outfit to the Cannes premiere of A History of Violence. We at TeenyManolo wish to encourage such outbreaks of fabulousness wherever they may occur.

  6. Bellamama Says:

As one who offered a caption on the boy’s charming, and very sparkly, clothing, I would like to state for the record… hoooray, gamma!

  7. fracas Says:

Not only will I buy a new pair of shoes if I win some award (even all those ones in the sidebar at the fracas blog) but I plan on buying new shoes because gamma won the caption contest.

Really… it’s something we should all do. Oh wait.. this is part of a shoe blog series? No. You’re kidding. Well goooolly.

  8. raincoaster Says:

Imagine that! I, personally, intend to buy a new pair of shoes (or at least intend to intend to) every time anyone wins the Friday Caption Contest. It’s all about solidarity, eh?
