The Croc in Sheep’s Clothing

The Wooly Mammoth!

As the Manolo would say, “Ayyyy!”

It is the Crocs for young girls masquerading as the fuzzy sheep for winter!

If wearing these shoes, one would be advised to carefully guard one’s tender ankles. For the sheep, it looks hungry.

“One of these things just don’t belong here. One of these things just isn’t the same.” (-sesame street) Crocs= water shoe Fur= not water proof. Hmmmm…. ?

My hatred of Crocs has been well documented over at The Dept. The fact that they are now a grave hazard on escalators has also been discussed. I used to think they were fine for kids, especially active ones, since they were waterproof and could be hosed off if muddied. Now that there are furry ones, I just can’t any longer give them dispensation.

It’s time to stop the madness altogether. It’s clearly a case of “give them an inch and they’ve sprouted fur in their quest to take over by the mile.” End it. NOW.

I saw these at the shoe store and got really confused. I mean, there are still HOLES IN THE TOES. So clearly your feet are not going to be that warm in them…

I saw someone today in Vancouver walking around with yellow Crocs and I thought A) his feet must be FREEZING and B) his feet must be soaked and C) they’re so eye-rippingly ugly that if he ends up dead in a ditch, they won’t have any problem finding the corpse. This is the only advantage to Crocs that I can see.

Rain- Yes, it is an ugly hybrid, is it not?

Boogiemum and chichimama- Yes, the entire hole and fuzzy material thing confounds me to no end.

Nance- I knew you would like this post. Hee.

My kids do not seem to want to give up their flip-flops and clogs for fall. This might extend the season a little further.
