Although you're right - those cheap little jumpers and shorts are crap. But, being the son of a sailor, I had a real he-man, scaled-down sailor suit - itchy wool, 13-button bell bottoms, a separate neckerchief (learned the square knot at age three and looked like a junior Jack Nicholson from "The Last Detail"), a petty officer 1st class's stripes, baby boondockers and a bleached white dixie cup.

I could have knocked the crap out of all those other sailor suit-wearing wusses.</description>
